TYSON FOR CITY COUNCIL WARD 1
A Vision for tomorrow. A plan for today.
A citywide vision to grow the economy, invest in infrastructure, and ensure safe, vibrant neighborhoods for all.
A citywide vision to grow the economy, invest in infrastructure, and ensure safe, vibrant neighborhoods for all.
Tyson Leyendecker is stepping forward to serve because he knows Dubuque is capable of more.
“I’ve seen firsthand what happens when a community reinvests in itself. When our economy thrives, every neighborhood benefits. But when it slows, our most at-risk families feel the impact first. That’s why I’m running—to make sure the next chapter of Dubuque’s story is written with everyone in mind.”
Tyson is driven by a deep belief that good leadership doesn’t just make plans—it builds consensus. He’s not here to grandstand. He’s here to listen, collaborate, and help create a master plan that reflects what matters to the people who call Dubuque home.
He’s running for Ward 1, but his heart and vision belong to the entire city.
Tyson will lead efforts to expand Dubuque’s tax base through growth, innovation, and local investment.
Small businesses, workforce strategies, and job-creating development will be key to reducing disparities and building opportunity for all.
Smart infrastructure isn’t about patching potholes—it’s about building a resilient city.
From sewer systems to broadband, Tyson will champion long-term, cost-efficient planning that lays the groundwork for sustainable development and access across all neighborhoods.
Every family deserves to feel safe.
Tyson supports collaborative public safety efforts, reinvestment in neighborhood amenities, and thoughtful policies that protect and connect communities.
“A rising tide lifts all ships—but only if we build a harbor that includes everyone.”
Tyson Leyendecker is a proud father of three—Piper (7), Winston (4), and Berkley (10 months)—and husband to Jennifer. Their decision to make Dubuque home was grounded in its values: hard work, trust, beauty, and a deep sense of community.
Tyson serves as President and Chief Credit Officer of Capra Bank, where he leads efforts to help individuals and businesses succeed using modern tools and local expertise. His leadership experience spans banking, civic engagement, and board service throughout the region.
